“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” Nelson Mandela
As the world starts to return to some form of normality after 2 years of being under lockdown and adhering to various covid-19 related restrictions, FFS Refiners was pleased to host 21 students from Protec during the school holidays once again.
The much-anticipated day began with a visit to our plant based in Teakwood Road, Jacobs whereby students enjoyed an interesting and informative tour of the plant which was followed by a presentation by FFS staff. The students listened intently as the day-to-day running of FFS operations were explained accompanied by visuals from our control room.
These highly ambitious and passionate students thereafter moved on to the second part of the visit, at the FFS Refiners head office based in Seaview where they were warmly welcomed by our Chief Financial Officer, Anisa Khan. The students also enjoyed another presentation by one of our Chemical engineers, Ahmed Mahomed.
The Protec Tongaat branch manager, Marion Takis was pleased to report that the visit left the students feeling very motivated by the exposure and experience.
FFS Refiners has been a proud sponsor of Protec for many years and look forward to many more motivating and purposeful student visits in the years ahead.
