FFS Refiners (Pty) Ltd (FFS) is a company that offers innovative solutions for the disposal of hydrocarbon waste products. One of the initiatives include the collection and disposal of used lubricating oils from various passenger and commercial service centres around the country. The service also comprises of the collection of used oil filters.
The used lubricating oil is processed and re-refined at FFS’ manufacturing facility in Pietermaritzburg, Kwa-Zulu Natal into base oil which matches and sometimes exceeds the quality of the original base oil. The used oil filters are then transported to FFS’ filter crushing plant in Chloorkop, Gauteng.
As part of this environmental saving initiative, FFS appointed Nyandezi (Pty) Ltd (Nyandezi), a 100% Black Woman owned EME with a level 1 BBBEE status with an opportunity to collect the used oil filters from the various commercial and passenger service centres throughout Kwa-Zulu Natal on FFS’ behalf.
To assist with the collection process, FFS handed over the keys to a brand-new collection vehicle to Nyandezi. According to Ms Nqobile Mchunu, Nyandezi’s General Manager/owner, this was a significant milestone on their journey in establishing themselves in the male-dominated petro-chemical industry.
