FFS Refiners explores mechanisms of optimizing its skills development by investing in bursaries for black beneficiaries. The intention is to advance the livelihoods of deserving young people who are in dire need of funding towards their university studies which will ultimately assist them in their ability to earn an income and improve their quality of life and that of their families.
FFS Refiners approached Fatlhosang Development Trust (FDT) to provide support to FFS Refiners in identifying qualifying beneficiaries who require funding for their fees at South African Universities which could hamper their progress to the next level or graduation. The beneficiaries chosen were in line with the EAP targets and included people with disabilities.
FFS Refiners covers the outstanding fees for the current academic year and other related course costs of the qualifying candidates. The award covered historical debt at the discretion of FFS Refiners if this impeded the students from graduating.
